About the resource

This is newly created personal web-page which is to communicate with colleagues as well as in-quisitive students world-wide. There are plainly developed brief papers and news which could be useful for both interesting people and professional community. Please, visit the site and joint us with surfing the Hydrosphere.

The author is a Russian explorer, living in a small provincial town Valday (or Valdai that is the same). He had earned Ph.D in 1987 for studies of the snow cover as a water resource for crop agriculture. Since then he was involved in various research projects many of which were applied to industry and agriculture. He has developed a number of methods and tools based on experi-ment data. These are used in diverse applications ranged from the snow management to gas pipe-line engineering, as well as implied to many special hydrological issues from weather radar and gauge network design to flood flow prediction. Most of them resulted in publications.

The author apologizes for his English, perhaps incorrect, but only allowing to communicate and travel abroad. Many of Russians do learn the English, so all the developed would not be Greek to them. This is only author's first exercise in Web and he did not meet all the needs.

Main goal of the author is to discuss what the water science methods and objectives are and, what is to be done to the research would become efficient. Indeed, the water science can contrib-ute to a sustainable world since the water is basic for life. It needs to be reformed itself, equipped with new instruments. It should cover most of relevant issues, the climatic, environmental and social. It should not be limited within traditional framework of hydrology that is only to study river flow and predict floods. It seems the experiments and the simulation models based upon experimental results only could improve the water science.
